Is Halloween on a weekend in 2011? What is the date of Easter in 2012? On what day and date is Passover this year? How about Vesak? Or Presidents’ Day? Or Rath Yatra? These questions come up all the time when planning schedules, talking about upcoming events or just preparing a calendar. Most calendars do a poor job of detailing these events and there is no reliable way to get quick, easy and reliable answers to these questions.

Given that every calendar differs slightly and that our days and dates change every year, who knows when these holidays fall from year-to-year? Everybody knows that Valentine’s Day is February 14, but is it on a Monday this year or on a Friday? Knowing this might drastically change your plans for the holiday. Everybody knows that Labor Day is the first Monday in September, but is it on September 1 or September 7? This might affect your summer planning.

And, it is not just U.S. holidays. Religious events (Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim,) have annual events that change on a constant basis. What about other countries? Mexico celebrates Cinco de Mayo on May 5th, but what day is May 5th this year? Canada celebrates Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October, but what is the date this year?

And, what about years beyond 2011? 2012? 2013 and beyond?

When Is It? is the premiere app for answering these types of questions in a flash. The app contains easy-to-use scroll wheels to let you quickly identify the type of event and year of event that you are trying to find. Simply press the “When Is It?” button and it will produce the day(s) and date(s) of the requested event. From there, you can opt to put this event in your calendar, e-mail it to someone, or simply go back and check on something else.

The initial version of this app will contain a total of 7 categories and over 75 holidays with days and dates out to 2015. Future versions of this app will include additional countries, additional events and years beyond 2015.
